"Hel-l-l-o" I muttered under my breath as I approached the cute brown haired girl working at the 7 Eleven corner store. "Hi" She said in an annoyed tone. "Can I get a king sized p-pack of New York cut's p-p-please.." I mumbled as I held my head down in shame. "Sure... It will be 9 dollars and 37 cents" She replied handing me the pack. "K-k-keep the change" I somehow managed to spurt out as I put a ten dollar bill nervously down on the counter and walked out of the store and furiously got into my 1996 Honda Civic. I was 23; had a great career, but not a lot of confidence. Last weekend, after the clock reached slightly past 2 AM I decided to stop playing League of Legends and went on the iPhone app store. In the top rated free applications, there was one that caught me eye ; Attracitoner. The concept was simple; it was developed by a Swedish Psychologist who has claimed he mastered the theory behind facial expressions; if someone is attracted to you. The idea of the app seemed harmless , you open the app, let the app have control of your camera and you hide the phone in your pocket with the camera facing out and it will vibrate 3 time's if it matches a hint of attraction within someone it is picking up. I decided that I was going to test this app out; I popped it in my pocket and went to the local mall. I approached many women, not a single buzz. I was astonished at this! I had read reviews earlier on the app store saying that this app work's completely and the designer has vowed that he has devoted many years of his life completing this app. Not giving up, I decided to call my friend Michael and tell him about this app. Michael was a year older than me, I met him in my fraternity during college. Michael was 5'6, fairly overweight but he did not lack self confidence. I told him that I didn't think this app worked, and told him to try it out with my phone. Michael took my phone and approached the first cute blonde hair girl he saw. I watched from a distance only to try to demoralize him when he came back and there was no buzz. To my surprise he came back and there was indeed a buzz! I thought it was a fluke, all my life I saw myself as a very good looking individual, but I had not received one buzz that whole time. I told Michael to go approach another girl, and another, and another. All with buzzes. I went to go approach the same girls, even more after those and to my surprise the phone didn't buzz once. After the mall we went to go grab some beers at a local bar when Michael glanced over at me and said "Hey man, don't feel to bad, maybe the app is glitched, you are a good looking guy." I shrugged it off, knowing that Michael had received some of the girls number's and was going to take them out on a date later. It didn't make sense to me, I was 6'3, 205 pounds of was very atheletic. I was not attractive to these women yet a 5'6 overweight
