Wreddit's Daily Pro-Wrestling Discussion Thread! What's on your mind today? (Spoilers for all shows) - April 26, 2023 Edition

I agree overall, being in NXT longer will help. However, and I'm just speculating here, I think the issue last night was extremely compounded by the fact that Indi was booked to win in the first place (I base this on the fact that while clearly just, she came back out to get the win. If she was gonna lose the whole time, no reason to do that). So you have 2 young wrestlers, working on the fly, in the main event, for the world title, with at that point no agreed upon finish or winner until the ref calls whatever comes from the back. It wasn't just, oh, this triple threat is now a singles match, just take it home and move on, which would be simpler. Plus, we don't know if there was conflicting calls saying first Indi is totally out of the match (so one of them has to win) and then changing to, nah, she's back and she can only hobble, but she's gonna steal a pin.

That said, I think people in general here call for call ups a little too quick. "Why isn't Bron on the main roster?" people ask, and the answer likely is his character work as a face was not enough to carry him on the main roster, so now he's getting some seasoning as a heel. That's not a bad thing, that's not an insult to Bron, it's the exact purpose of NXT. Similar to people asking why Sol Ruca wasn't in the ladder match at the last PPV. Probably because she's been wrestling for all of a year, hasn't really worked matches longer than like 7 minutes, and it would be irresponsible to put her in a ladder match, even if we can imagine some potential cool spots.
