3.5 Dark Falls on Coerthas -- the day has come. The group wakes early and radioes for the battle. On Ishgard Cid curses his luck. The device to replicate Tataru's emitting signature has ceased working all together and as time draws near he can only guess for a place in the whole of Eorzea where he might find a restoration circuit he might be able to use -- the graveyard. After talking to the warrior of light Cid offers a quick trip to Ydilshire where the Illuminati keep the graveyard deep in the recesses of a cave this pile of goodies is known as the graveyard (New Dungeon). Upon defeating the illuminati defenses Cid is distraught to find no perfect match and the decision is made to have Tataru join them at the battle. In the mean time forces begin to move into Coerthas and the warrior of light is called back to meet with the Eorzean alliance in one last effort to get their help. The leaders and a small contingency of the alliance agrees to come as spectators only joining the battle as needed and as a precaution should the primal summoning go awry. After completing the meeting the warrior of light returns to Coerthas and is informed by the allies that they will need a home base. They decide on the Dusk Vigil but on scouting the place they discover that the Ascians have sent a committee into the place that needs to be cleared (Dusk Vigil HM). Once cleared and established the warrior of light moves on the actual battle. The cutscene starts with the summoning of the primals who are summoned in much smaller form and with more human-like attributes. From the west the hord led by Minfilia riding Nidhogg's appears just as Hraesvelgr flies from the North to Join the Heroes. For a tense minute the armies stare each other down. Any last words? Minfilia states and after a short pause the scions reply in force For Hydelin. The battle ensues. The Hordes are engaged by the primals and the land forces which triggers the first fight (Patch Boss one: The Warrior of Darkness) this is a one on one fight with the warrior of darkness split in two parts first it is a moderate difficulty fight in which the primals help you defeat the warrior of darkness. The clear cutscene shows Minfilia still ridding Nidhogg spy on Cid riding his airship and Tataru aboard powering the primals. Minfilia smiles and says that's cheating and with a wave of her hand a blast of energy downs the airship with Cid and Tataru aboard. On the ground the Warrior of Darkness recovers and defeats all the now weakened primals. This triggers the second part of the fight a much more difficult one on one with the Warrior of Darkness. The clear cutscene shows the warrior of Darkness death at the hands of the warrior of light and Tataru emerging from the wreckage unknowingly using the relic once more. The result is the fallen primals are now powered through the Aether in turn powering Zodiark on a loop and causing Tataru to become catatonic. In the meantime the warrior of light is joined by Hraesvelgr and aboard his back reunites with Matoya, Thancred, Urianger and Yshtola. They take flight for the next fight. (Patch Boss: Nidhogg) Nidhogg is an Aerial fight focused on dodging and perfect-time attacks. The clear cutscene shows Thancred taking on Minfilia and both falling off Nidhogg while Hraesvelgr lands on Nidhogg as Matoya and Yshtola attempt the restoration spell. In the mean time a cutscene is shown of the battle around the heroes in which the dragon horde has killed nearly all the crystal braves. Desperate Urianger tries to make linkshell contact with the Eorzian alliance but they decline and flee the battlefield. Urianger convinces the warrior of light to help Thancred while he tries to help the battered crystal braves and locate both Cid and Tataru. The warrior of light finds Thancred and Minfilia (Boss fight: Minfilia) the battle is an 8 person fight which alternates between fighting Minfilia and her shadow clones. The clear cutscene shows Thancred use the Crystal on a badly beat Minfilia and fail. She tosses him across the stage. She states that won't work but that she'll pay her dues and with a huge screech a wave of darkness rises and consumes all the dragons on the scene including Hraesvelgr himself in a very sand goodbye the dragon states perhaps this is the way perhaps in a world of war and bloodshed eternity was but a curse. Upon the death of all dragons Yshtola and Matoya arrive with a badly burned Azure dragoon indicating the spell barely had enough time to work. The Azure dragoon is alive but barely and will be of no help. Also of no help are the Ishgardians who have already fled back and locked their doors or so says Minfilia who reveals they traded information on the scion's planning for their promise that Ishgard would not be taken so in the end all that's left is Minfilia and the Scions in the middle of the snow and the dark. A darkness that feeds and grows as Minfilia reveals the real plan. To use the power of the fallen primals and the relic to finally resurrect Zodiark in the flesh through Minfilia herself. As the transformation begins to take place Minfilia speaks of her victory as the land itself begins to die its aether drawn into the darkness. Minfilia claims her victory in roars until Urianger makes the scene flanked by Tataru and Cid. Urianger reveals it is time and states how he became a double agent as instructed by Minfilia and how together they planned the infiltration of the Ascians and with the blessing and beckon of the mother crystal they planned her liberation. As he speaks Urianger uses a light spells that temporarily frees Minfilia. She explains how using they never intended for Tataru to be included but her use of the relic made it impossible for her not to. She explains how Zodiark feeds and how Tataru's existence is now part of an eternal loop feeding him through the fallen primals. In a last sad scene Minfilia says her goodbye and holds both Urianger and Tataru as a triad they use the spell of the mother and turns themselves into Crystal Minfilia warns as she dies that the Crystal will destroy Zodiark's Essense but the the darkness that makes him will fall upon the land and flood it. She can open a path to save them but the land itself will be defiled. Light will return to the land but not darkness will first reign its umbral right. As they lament Minfilia's lost and opt not to warn the Eorzean alliance due to their betrayal the remaining scions are vested in light and transported far away as the darkness falls on Coerthas and consumes the land. The beginning of the 8th umbral era.
