Writers claim being excluded after creating Idris Elba's play | Stage

Firstly, thanks for posting the extra article. I appreciate the added information!

Secondly, while I want to believe in and back the writers, it still feels like a game of "he said, she said." I've gone through what they have before, and I know countless other writers who have as well. Sometimes you're truly bullied off of a project and may even have rights that are breached. Sometimes, however, writers also refuse to collaborate and thereafter are fired. In film, it's almost guaranteed that you're replaced, and the WGA always steps in to distribute credits based on work utilized (not sure how this works in theatre).

Before we pass judgment on Idris Elba and Kwei-Armah, I feel like we need more information re: how similar the final product is to the work that the writers did, if their contract and right to veto was in fact breached, and their working relationship with Kwei-Armah.

This said, I hope the writers are in the right, and I hope that (if they are) they receive credit for their work.
