She made her decision, turned right and froze as she came face to face with a monster. Or rather face to waist. Nine feet tall it dwarfed her slight frame. The creature was humanoid and entirely naked revealing the muscled physique of a demigod. Its body thick with huge veined muscles and abs that any man would have envied if they were not covered with an intricate layer of scarified tattoos. Across its entire torso and strips of skin had been sliced and peeled that left the creature with the image a solar disc on its upper torso a with rays that extended across the chest and curled along its arms and legs.

Like all monsters of the necromancers it was genderless, nothing but empty scarred skin covered where its genitals should have been. Four arms, thick as tree trunks sprouted haphazardly from the torso bearing sutures where steel wire had been melded with flesh to attach the vestigial limbs, sewed on like the handiwork of some demented doll maker.

He clenched and clenched his fists, knuckles popped loudly.

I’m going to die, she thought dimly, terror flooding her rational mind. The knife slipped out of her hand and fell soundless onto the carpet. Her legs gave way next and she fell to her knees.

It noticed her then for the first time, gazing down at her with three gleaming eyes, the lazy disinterest of an elephant looking at an ant. She made the mistake of meeting his gaze. Two warm brown human eyes met her, taking her off guard, then she looked upward and she saw the third eye upon his forehead, unnatural with black sclera and red irises.

The monster’s face spasmed and twitched, the corner of its cheeks turning upward, pale lips tugging at the metal wire that had been used to sew its mouth shut.

It’s trying to smile at me, she realized. It examined her as she knelt before it, a supplicant before a savage God. It crouched down and bringing its colossal face closer and closer to her. Her brain told her body to get up and run. Her body didn't obey. It extended one platter sized hand toward her....
