Is it wrong to cry when hitting an animal (armadillo) on the road

One day I was driving on a back road at 55 mph in like a prairie area and a house car ran out in front of me and got hit. It died instantly. Didn't have a collar. My sadness manifested as anger. I was screaming how stupid that cat was and that I hated this world for being able to just kill something out of the blue like that. Interestingly, the same night I let my indoor cat outside in the back yard which was unusual. There was another cat out in our backyard. I then proceeded to hang out with this random cat and my cat in the backyard at twilight. They would stalk each other and the friendly cat was a little skittish but would let me pet her. It was a rather unique experience since my cat stayed indoors and I hadn't seen that cat before. Hung out into the night.

It was rather therapeutic.
