I was wrong. This isnt something I want.

Hey man it's alright. My fiancé and I rescued a lab puppy when he was about 3 months old. It was one of the most stressful periods of my life.

I loved him, of course I loved my dog, but I also hated him. Our carpets got piss and poop on them, our yard had holes in them, and he was just an asshole no matter what we did for him. I have never resented an animal more than him.

I didn't want a big dog, but my fiancé always wanted another lab. Since he needed to be rescued, I agreed to get him.

I asked to get rid of him during a month in. No matter how much I walked him, trained him, taught him tricks, it was never enough. Me and my fiancé bickered and argued so much more after the dog came.

BUT now our dog is almost 7 months old. He's adorable and I love him. It took a lot of work but now I can't really imagine going back to not having a dog.

Doggie daycares and puppy classes will be your best friend. And of course so will your dog.

But yeah. I was in your boat, and other commenters seem to have been as well. It'll get better.
