We will not know until after the next election. Trump, odd as it may sound, falls into the charismatic arena. I hope that it was a fluke but who knows.

As far as proving each other wrong, that is kind of pointless. I guess I could simply say that in my opinion elections have been won by “moderates” . Of course there have been a few outliers and sometimes things just simply swing for left to right and then back again, a form of checks and balances.

If you are basing the argument on Trump, I have no answer, in my opinion he is an outlier on so many levels that I don’t think there is any historical context for electing someone like him.

Many baby boomers still remember Carter and equate Bernie with him. They remember Carter for high interest rates and a poor economy. Money wins. Always.
