WTF, SERIOUSLY? Stop shooting people and their dogs.

Yes... HIPAA is privacy.. now let's discuss the rest.

Restraints?? Hospitals have to use restraints... what you've posted is is just guidelines on how to use them. My father was recently in the hospital on a ventilator, and he was on meds that had him drowsy.. they restrained his wrists so while he was in that state, he wouldn't become slightly more alert.. and think "hey.. there is something uncomfortable in my mouth.. I need to pull that out!". Which.. he tried to do at various times. So, you just want patients half out of it to be able to pull out their own vent tubes and IV's?

And you're saying that cops shouldn't be able to restrain someone to their hospital bed.. so the minutes they feel better.. they can get up and walk out?

Now.. I'm NOT a cop.. never was. But put yourself in their situation.. you get a call saying a woman was brutally attacked.. and is stabbed and blood everywhere. The offices arriving don't know if the guy that attacked her is still there or left.. of left and came back. Then while all this is going on.. a dog comes out.. starts barking and running toward them... do you want mauled by a dog when you're just trying to do your job and A. help the victim and B.. find the suspect?? I LOVE dogs.. but I might be inclined to shoot it as well.. they probably didn't even notice in the chaos that it only had 3 legs.. which BTW.. a dog with 3 legs can still attack and do some damage.

Now.. after all that.. now you've got another guy showing up with a gun.. he's all freaked out and has every right to be if he doesn't know what the hell is going on. Of course.. it's hard to NOT know what's going on when your girlfriend it laying there bleeding in the next room.. I'm sure she was screaming for her life. But.. if you're the cop.. what do you do in that situation when you told him to "put the weapon down".. and he still doesn't put it down?? Do you just hope he's not crazy enough to shoot you?? I don't think you'd risk it.
There could be other factors too.. maybe the guy has drugs in the house that he doesn't want to get caught with.. maybe the stabbing was over some kind of illegal conduct..

And.. you're right... it's not possible for "every single person to just misunderstand and choose disobey cops pointing guns at their faces". You're absolutely right.. but "every single person" do not misunderstand.. some understand and put their weapons down... but.. I'm sure like 80% of the people see 3 cops pointing guns at them.. and they put their weapons down... but you don't hear about those cases.. you only hear about the ones that they guy did NOT put his weapon down.. and ends up getting shot.. so yes.. it's going to seem like everyone with a gun is getting shot because that's what makes the news...

You're not going to get a breaking news story that says..

"cops where called to an apartment on the east side.. a man came out and pointed gun.. the officers told him to put the weapon down.. and he did"... end of story... that's not what the news reports..

You need to get a freaking grip man..
