WTF Time Warner Cable Managment

A couple months back while Verizon was installing lines in the neighborhood they ended up knocking out our Comcast internet for most of the day by accidentally cutting the line. The workers spliced it together and tried to bury it which worked while it was above ground and didn't while it was buried, probably because they were trying to bury the bare wires where it was spliced back together with nothing covering them. Eventually they decided to leave it above ground with a bag over it so it was working and basically said to call Comcast to fix it since it's their line. Comcast came out in about a week and decided to just run a temporary line from the box at the back of the yard, over the shed, along the fence, and back to the house to get it working (leaving the spliced wires sticking out of the ground but I don't think they were live or anything at this point). They said somebody would be out to bury it within a week. A couple weeks later nobody had showed up so I called and they said they had no record of anybody scheduling the temporary line to be buried and that it would be something like 4-8 weeks for somebody to come bury it. After about 6 weeks or so and several calls, they apparently came by and then left because the gate was locked (shut and latched, no lock but whatever). They asked for it to be left unlocked for the next attempt so that's what we did. They supposedly came back again a few days later although nobody knocked either time and the gate was unlocked but they again said that it was locked. On the third time only a couple weeks ago, after this temporary line being up for over 2 months, they finally buried the line.

Here's the kicker. They somehow managed to knock out my neighbors Verizon in the process and she was left with no internet or TV until the next day when Verizon could send out somebody that they had drive in from another state with a "bodyguard" to watch her (according to her) because of the strikes. They eventually realized that they had to run a new temporary line from the neighbor on the opposite side's yard where they had previously installed a new box buried in their yard (which they never contacted them about doing, it just showed up one day), over the fences and the shed, through her yard and up to her house. They left about 20 feet of coiled temporary line in the one neighbors yard and left. Now the 3 of us have to wait for Verizon to eventually come out and bury this new temporary line.

Tl;dr Cable companies suck.
