I appreciate your argument, but why don’t the lower income kids just go to community college and live at home and save even more money for their families?

They seem to have no shame sharing a room with a kid that pays full price and is subsidizing their education.

Let’s just hope they don’t brag how much $$ they got for financial aid — you may not realize the the upper middle class family is taking out $40,000 In Parent Plus loans every year after raiding their kids college account for $32,000. They will be paying their loans back for 10-15 years as the interest keeps adding to their principal. All because they bought a few good investment.stocks and bought a house that increased in value 18 years ago and waited till they had money in the bank before having 2 kids ....maybe their mom also worked in a bank and went to school nights and got an MBA because she was ambitious and also wanted the best for her kids one day... 4 jobs also sounds like a lot of cash —see? What looks fair isn’t always so - it works both ways.

Why not let the rich kids take all the available seats since they are the only ones that can write a full pay check ? Because it’s UN-American. But bleeding the upper middle class kids is not fair and as as the price of college goes up up up , they are no longer able or willing to afford the $73,000 annual bill to go to Boston University or Bowdoin to play on the tennis team.

So who will be left to pick up the tab? Hello international kids —- but that’s another game...when the lower income kids are surrounded by rich Asians they will be the first to cry about a lack of diversity and they can’t get a 4.0 because they had such weak high school educations ...California anyone? The day we all start hoping to get low paying jobs and whine about our bit so bad circumstances is the day we all become socialists —Bernie....anyone?
