It did kinda fall flat - but I can’t really put my finger on why. Still very happy for him and I hope they write him into a rich story for the WWE Title at Mania. But I think throwing him into a program with Roman Reigns after last night is character assassination. Split the titles and let Sami v Roman breathe. They could always just run with the “Roman is taking Raw hostage” stuff and Triple H has to strip him of one of the titles as consequence. But build Cody over the next few months based on his mission to make Dusty proud. Make us remember why we rooted for Cody in the first place. And then give him a really good opponent night 1. But Roman and Sami have to be night 2.
