Wyatt Russell's 'No Acting School': 4 Ways to Teach Yourself Performance

There are many people nowadays who preach acting schools like there is no tomorrow, and there are countless more who happen to be of the mindset that acting is picked up on a whim by looking around at the world.

The truth is that life molds the actor, and you cannot control life or what "life" hands you in the way of genetics or experiences.

Attending a good BFA program is your sure bet at maximizing whatever you have brewing, but it's not the only way.

The problem with the many whom opt for the second approach is that they are either simply vain banal people or highly emotional people who mean well but cannot look past their own troubles and will forever languish in that pool of misery. These unfortunate souls happen to think that merely because they are human they deserve to promulgate the screen or stage with their troubles, but the reality is that they just bore. (Go into many acting studio classes and you will see this).

If we are to take everything that Wyatt says in the article at face value, then has many valid points...and I did enjoy his work in Black Mirror, however, I am running out of time... and don't want to make this too long, so I shall end it here.
