WyVRn, a solo-dev, gesture-based VR game

The game is WyVRn, a solo-dev VR game of mine that spawned from experiments. In this gif, I'm testing a few things: gestures for spellcasting, takeoffs, landings, and steering.

How I made this

The core gesture system is actually a customized implementation of the $1 Gesture Recognizer plus a best fit plane algorithm. There have been modifications to make the rotational insensitivity optional on a symbol-by-symbol basis and ignore fix off-by-one errors that can occur if naively implemented.

The dragon's flight system is a mix of IK for the animation and several translation curves to determine the angles and following distances for a dragon as it flies, or tries to land. The steering mechanism is a pretty basic stick that you manipulate. You shake the reins to to faster, or take off from the ground.
