[x-post /r/CFB] Sources: Texas President Fenves weighing Patterson's Future

This just shows me that you are not in tune with the true debate regarding the basketball facility. Before I elaborate, let me just ask you what you believe Patterson's position is on the new basketball arena? I can tell you for a fact what I know about it based on a closed meeting I attended on the matter. And the truth is, it's up in the air and the timeline is such that Patterson may never get a chance to work on it, even if he wants to. But he has some great ideas about it and they probably clash with what you believe his priorities are on it. Nonetheless, please answer the question as in depth as you can, feel free to throw in your own opinion on what the priorities should be with regard to the bball arena.

If you really have been around 20 years, surely you can remember the basketball days of 2002-2007? Students would line up hours before the games and Rick would bring them pizza. The Erwin center was full and exciting. It's all about the state of the program, winning=excitement.

Areas where I will agree with you: I don't like the hype men at bball or fball. I also hate the advertising but it's been bad since the jumbotron was introduced. I hate piped in music, I also hate that they mic the band, but this has also been going on since before SP arrived. I also agree his personal style is poor and he clashes with fans. As for your personal experience with ND tickets, it sounds like he was basically saying just go scalp some, we don't have any. [He is severely lacking in his relationship with the fans and donors, and to me that is the most important and just criticism of him.]

I'm not saying the guy hasn't ruffled feathers or doesn't deserve any criticism. I'm saying that the things he is getting criticized for are not in line with what is going on in the department a lot of the time.
