Xbox Games Showcase - Halo Infinite Gameplay Reveal Megathread

All of the comments saying Halo has to evolve and the original games are only hyped because of nostalgia - there’s no other way to say it than you’re wrong.

Call of Duty hasn’t changed since 2003 at its core. I haven’t paid attention to it for years so no need to nitpick that and say I’m wrong, but for at least a decade the game was the same every year and it was the top played game for those years. Maybe Halo couldn’t survive as “the same”, but then just let it die. Some things aren’t meant to be around forever.

The demo didn’t excite me at all, but I don’t have anything negative to say either. Overall I have nothing to say. Which... whatever.

Hopefully it’s successful and brings Halo back to its core. Given trends of technology and video games for the last decade, I’m confident it’ll be hot garbage. Cheap development, speed to market, and how to milk the customer with cheap tactics are the way of the world. Releasing an MVP, continuing to iterate on fixes and releasing new features, REQ pack type unlocks, and micro transactions are here to stay until consumers stop buying things and companies are forced to go back to the days of delivering quality products. The amount of comments in here saying “looked like shit but I’ll still buy it because Halo” is why 343 will never produce a Halo 1-3 product.

I was mad at 343 for Halo 4. I was absolutely disgusted by the MCC release. I haven’t even played Halo 5. If Infinite is a flop, too, and 343 has the audacity to continue making Halo games, 343 isn’t the problem.
