Xenoblade Chronicles X: Beta version VS Final game (first trailer recreated)

My impressions were basically that they spread themselves a little too thin with the game and instead of sticking with their strengths they created a mix of solid gameplay and boring drag. The environments were incredible and the story had potential but it never felt like it was going anywhere til late game. Characters were tropes on wheels. As cool as it was that there was a city that you could run around and even fly into/out of (so cool), it just felt like a facade with stock buildings and things you clip through (admittedly this makes traversing via skell easier but it just always felt off). Recycled animation, lame quests, and accumulating a bloated inventory of things I can't equip and things I don't want to equip just kept bumming me out whenever I sat down for some game time. The strengths of the game are in the combat and exploration (often simply just for the sake of exploration), let me do that instead of going around talking to bland NPCs or listening to jokes about cooking Tatsu or listening to jokes about cooking Tatsu or listening to jokes about cooking Tatsu.
