So...yeah.....The Babadook

Omg, omg, ok Imma go 420blazeit 360 NOSCOPE xxYOLOSWAGJESUSxx IN THIS JOINT, YA FEEL ME!

I aint even gonna use right grammar! I aint using commas, cause it's 8 am where im from and im on my phone, feel me homie!

this is what's wrong now, people expected this....

1) The title is the babadook, yes, the mindset of everyone who came to the movie was it was a monster movie. Everyone who have gone out the the cinema was disappointed as a kid who received a sega than a Nintendo on his birthday, why? cause they expected it to be a monster movie, and not but a tiny glimpse of the said monster was shown so they all be like, awww that's it, wtf?

2) You all came to like abusing your reflexes, admit it or not it had a lack of sharp loud noises and painfully tasteless jumpscares. Which made everyone cried and begged for it. It's like you never liked whips in the first place but you kept doing it for some whatever reason, now that your partner's suggesting romance, you be all like.. NAW! NAW! I WANT SOME KRISTIAN GREY ON THIS BED!

at this point, I had my coffee, so let's giving review of this movie right here right now

So the Babadook. I have never felt this so disturbed since I played Silent Hill 2 with my dad in the middle of the night. First of let's settle with the amazing performance Essie Davis, it really gripped on to me, it was so realistic. Talk about Oscar Performance that isn't really Anne Hathaway-ish. See how the kid here, this kid is just so annoying, and in the end of the movie, it had you rooting for someone you really didn't expect to root for at the beginning. It was a smart film, it didn't show much of the creature itself (ok not to spoil) which is what is unsettling about it. I don't blame the viewers though, I blame it on how they sold it. They made the Babadook appear to be a monster movie, so we did expect something like Mama while entering the cinemas, huh?

The use of the steady ambient sound, it was so unique, it had my stomach turning, it was unbelievable because it wasn't your typical music. I give this a solid 8.5/10 since yes I did fell victim on my first watch, dissapointed at it didn't made me jumped in my seats. But what it did, is made me look around my house and lock my closet with coat hangers a few times. It's sticks to you, slowly, it doesn't slap you in the face with fake scares and such. I love it, I suggest you watch it the second time, and look at the amazing, smart metaphorical imagery it was using through out the movie that led you to the ending.

And if you still haven't changed your mind, you all have different tastes I guess. Maybe next time you could watch It Follows!
