Yeah but maybe RNG in this game does

It's not as easy as you make it sound. When you compare gear pieces there are so many tradeoffs to be assessed it can make most peoples' brains hurt. A loadout is the sum of its parts, so if I find a gear piece I want to use but has a deficiency, I need to make up for the deficiency elsewhere. People have hoarding tendencies because they want to keep their options open. And with an RNG system this complicated, it becomes more difficult choosing what to throw away and what to keep.

I appreciate the uniqueness and variety in loadouts that this enables for players though. I admit after playing through a long personal learning curve, familiarizing myself with every possible talent or stat, it finally feels fun thinking through an assessment of tradeoffs & sacrifices.
