Yeah, it sucks when things don't work out, but you're not entitled to have workers subsidize your dreams

Hey man I got a Starbucks job in a safeway recently and my management was terrible. They never listened to my requests for hours, once the fall semester started I asked for 15-20 hours and never once got less than 20. I later asked for 10-15 only to get 17 hours two weeks later and then back to 25. I asked to be cross trained in another department to get more hours during the summer only for that to never go anywhere because my management simply never set it up. I was also frequently working shifts that were 5+ hours with no brakes because our incompetent management literally would not schedule a second person to give the other a break. I was literally told to ask someone who works in the bakery to cover for me while so I can take lunches, but why should I? Our bakers have plenty of work they need to do already. We even have been understaffed for a while, which is presumably why I never got the hours I wanted, but they refused to higher a second person.

Yeah fuck that. I quit at the end of a shift and told my management I would not be coming in tomorrow or anymore. I'll take my ass somewhere else like the target down the street that not only pays 20% more but will probably offer a modicum more of respect for me than that shit Safeway job.
