Yes, I know Branco is conservative...

I am not a huge fan of Biden, but this is a little disingenuous.

People for some reason have this really bizarre belief that the President has some godlike power over the economy and can make it bend to his will as he pleases. The President has comparatively little control over the economy, and most of the economic situation a specific President receives ends up being dumb luck.

COVID created a raft of supply chain issues which are driving inflation, and the Russian invasion strained commodities supply even further and sent commodities prices skyrocketing.

So our current economic situation is a result of stuff out of Biden's control, and the main way that the Federal Reserve (which ostensibly is independent from the White House) is trying to fix the situation is by raising interest rates, which might make the whole thing worse if it plunges us into recession as a result.

That said, I do think Biden should stop going around pointing fingers at others, however justified, and start being more honest about the economic realities in front of us.

But I also think people need to stop thinking that the President is the God of Economy who can manipulate and shape the markets to his will.
