Yes, the story is rushed. Yes, the game is unfinished. Yes, you're disappointed.

I am one of those that is super critical about the game's story. The rest though? I want more, I've run through all of the side-quests (and they're not as good as some previous FFs or The Witcher 3 which still has a much better open world imo). I think objectively, I'd tell people who want prioritize cool action combat to go with FFXV but if they want a more coherent package to go with The Witcher 3 these days (since you can get the game + DLC at the price of a base game).

However personally, I still love this game. Flaws and all and I'm interested to see how they steer the ship when it comes to adding story.

I definitely was disappointed because I thought it should have been a much better story, and I do think another year in the oven would have done it a lot of good. Yet, I'm still playing it over other games I've got to start or complete. I have lots of fun with it. Personally, FFX at the time I played it was a better experience. But this is still such a fun game to play for me.

We'll see once the actual whole thing is patched in if they managed to tell the story the way it deserved to be told.

Also, if they manage to put in a FFXII style gambit system, I'd be over the moon.
