You are completely missing the point.
If their actual goal was in fact environmental issues, "use your old accessories", then why include ANY cable at all? That was an environmentally wasteful decision. And why continue making ports that literally no other electronics producer on the planet utilizes? The entire rest of the world has adopted the USB-C standard, so if environmental issues was the true stand they're trying to make, a USB-A to USB-C cord, with a device that has a USB-C port, would have been MUCH more useful, and that falls in line with the argument that "there are billions of chargers out there already" so much better.
It's purely a fucking money grab. Stop defending this behavior.
