yogurt etymology post itself was unsolicited. There's nothing wrong with the post itself to be clear, but it is hardly very relevant to the post.

To top that off, one commenter replies -without making any implications- the history of yogurt off Wikipedia (which is hardly less relevant than the word's etymology, I'm sure you'd agree) and is promptly downvote bombed by someone.

I'm sure I could have refrained from pointing the finger at the Turkish specifically, but this guy is getting unfairly downvoted for this reason, and don't try to claim otherwise. I was just saying it as it is, and I think that childish extremely fragile nationalism is totally ok to call out.

And as the cherry on top you manage to entwine in your post that you actually think a specific, modern, nation was somehow the first to notice that milk curdles - either intentionally or by chance. Sorry, but you're being delusional if you don't see the irony in it
