Young black male conflicted on Donald Trump

I think racists do tend to vote conservative, and they probably will tend to vote for Trump more. But that doesn't necessarily mean Trump's a racist or that his policies are bad.

A racist may think black people tend to take more welfare because of their race, so they would welcome plans to reduce unemployment amongst blacks. But that might come from a general, non-racist intent to reduce unemployment in general, which may be a good thing for blacks.

The way I increasingly see things, the left seems to now want to create and perpetuate racial conflicts and disadvantage because they claim to be the only ones qualified to fix the problems. If they were solved, it wouldn't give them so much to talk about.

That's not the case for everybody. I think there are definitely good voters and politicians on the left who do want to help, and there are racist politicians on the right, but there is no evidence that Trump is one of those.

I think Trump really will help the less well off to help themselves, rather than remain dependent on the state and on a particular party to give them help. And that's not to say he'll cut them loose and make them "pull themselves up by their bootstraps" either. He believes in social safety nets. I just think he knows how to get good deals for people, he knows what drives and motivates people.

I can't speak for black people, but I'd be kind of sick of constantly being told I'm in a very disadvantaged group that needs (white) papa democrat to help me. That if I choose to work at a steel mill or as a mechanic rather than go to college, that I'm a failure and dragging down the statistics for my race, etc.

Capitalism is pretty color blind. Work is work, and discrimination based on anything other than productivity is inefficiency. Trump understands capitalism. I think he understands and appreciates people are different, and he'll be able to help them achieve what they want. Rather than always be measured against white people and anything they do worse at they'll be considered failures for.

That's quite a rant but I hope it made some sense.
