Young Monk Education Curriculum?

When I volunteered at The City of 10,000 Buddhas in Ukiah, CA, the temple had private schools for girls and boys (the entire temple is separated by gender) from k-12 grade. Their curriculum is what you would expect at any regular school. There is math, English, science, world history, art, etc. The temple doesn't expect all their students to become monks and nuns so of course the teachers want to get their students set up for success in the real world, too. The students there came from all over the world: China, Japan, Malaysia, and Mexico to name a few. When I was there, the graduating class from before had a student get a full ride to Princeton. A lot of em end up going to UCs. Then this year they had one student get a perfect score on the SATs (this kid played Bridges with Bill Gates) and another kid only got one question wrong. Those kids work hard tho. I don't think the school does anything extra to help but being free from the distraction of girls, games, and drugs greatly helps with their concentration cause they live at the temple when school is in session.
