Why do young people rarely turn up in numbers at elections?

No one is saying they're barriers put in place that solely effect young people, but that they're more likely to effect young people. Young people move more. Young people are less likely to have drivers licenses. Young people are less likely to have passports. Young people are less likely to have firearm licenses. Young people are more likely to have complicated living situations that are difficult to navigate in terms of voting. Young people are more likely to be burdened with child care. Young people are more likely to work jobs without generous time off policies. Young people work more hours in general. Saying that someone is lazy because they only took the time to read the information on their department of state instead of the underlying statute is both absurd and offensive.

These aren't insurmountable, but they are inarguably barriers. If we put polling places on mountaintops accessible only by a short, vigorous climb, no one would object to an elderly person complaining about the barriers they face to vote, even though I, personally, would have no problem overcoming it. You're either arguing in bad faith to justify voting restrictions, or ignorant about the difficulty and complexity of voting in some jurisdictions.
