Young woman criticizing international socialism: "What are we doing in a luxury 5-star hotel?"

Chiming in again against my better judgement.

I want to preface all of the more important parts of this response by saying that from the moment you responded to me you've read as petty and convinced of your own superiority. /u/audendante has done an excellent job at trying to remain patient and present the facts to you. In fact I was quite content to just let them deal what you were saying since they were doing a pretty great job at it, for someone who, I assume, is not actually affiliated with the politics they're discussing (given Marxism and Socialism's supreme impact on the world - for the better - you'd think these things would be much more common knowledge).

But you just keep making these poorly written out, nonsense responses that have circular logic and nearly always come back to, "I think I'm right, I think this, I think this is what happens." How can anyone have a discussion with a person like you about anything if that's the kind of crap they're going to have to deal with?

I'm going to sum up your entire point, in all of your posts, right now. You think differently to what is written down, practiced and advocated by people subscribing to it, and refuse to accept that you're towing the Americentric, political slur, "Socialism," line. Oh, and you must be right because you can throw a fuckin' stone and hit one of the many social democracies that exist in the world today. Checkmate, Socialists. Socialism isn't what you say it is.

/u/audendante has already elaborated excellently on what I first said. No more actually needs to be said about it. There's no argument to be had, no debate. Socialism is not what you think it is. Humbly accept that and re-school yourself on the topic.

I'm going to end on a high note. Nationalist socialism hasn't changed its meaning. Nazi still means the same damn thing 80 years later. There are freaking Neo-nazis (Hullo, Golden Dawn! P.S. say hi to the BNP for me) around today. Fascism hasn't changed its meaning either. Democracy also hasn't changed its meaning, though its application has broadened over the centuries. Anarchism hasn't either.

Yes, you should educate yourself. Write back when you've actually read books like The Communist Manifesto (Marx & Engels) or Social Reform or Revolution (Luxemburg), or Capital (Marx), or The State and Revolution (Lenin), or The Origins of the Family, Private Property and the State (Engels), or What is the Real Marxist Tradition? (Molyneux) to name a few.

Don't think that having read a little bit (although I'm willing to bet it's closer to watched on youtube) of Noam Chomsky suddenly makes you the oracle of knowledge on all things libertarian, left-wing, politics.
