Younger Black people in IT, you ever feel alone/isolated?

I'm white, but first generation professional. I understand your challenges and feelings outweigh my own, but imposter syndrome plagues me pretty regularly.

My peers are primarily older white people and we work in a very conservative industry. I don't really associate with them on a personal level, and outside of business pleasantries I feel pretty alone.

I also married well above my station so anytime I'm around my in-laws I basically keep my mouth shut. I can't tell them about my addict sister and brother, or my uncles in and out of prison and the county jail. They'd act sympathetic but then prob look down on me.

As long as I keep my mouth shut I can pass tho.
