As a zoomer, yes. For the past 10 or so years I remember that. Looking back I don’t exactly like most of EP 1, EP2 fixes those old problems but the dialogue and build up to some events is very questionable. Ep3 is universally the best. I had a pt fan say Padme and Anakin’s affir sum it up as a dysfunctional relationship, but dysfunctional would imply both parties were unhappy and dissatisfied with each other. It’s more Romeo and Juliet though and the problem with Romeo and Juliet was both families had a feud. Meanwhile Anakin can’t let go of Padme and his love turned to fear then to desperation and eventually the Sith. Padme still loved Anakin, but Anakin was blinded by his desperation and it turned to Hate when he saw Obi-Wan.
