Your board game history in 5 games.

  • 13 Dead End Drive - As a child, I spent a lot of time in my cousin's house, and they had a bunch of MB board games, like Mouse Trap, Candyland, Monopoly, etc. But I enjoyed 13 Dead End Drive the most. I wasn't good at it. I didn't even know what I was doing, but those death traps were so exciting! This planted the seed of this hobby while I was young.

  • Last Night on Earth - First board game I ever bought. I think I picked it up at a B&N. The box art drew me in, and zombies were still a fad. The game was a blast! Until then, the only board games I had been playing were Scrabble, Pokemon Master Trainer (lol), and Clue. The friends enjoyed this one, and I busted it out every chance I got. This was my first step into the hobby.

  • Resistance - My gateway drug into party games. I never really considered these games "board games" until I got deeper into the hobby. We'd play one of these games every party, and I was quickly labeled "the game guy" and was expected to bring a game every party/hangout. Around this time, I picked up ONUW and Codenames.

  • Arcadia Quest - Board game purchases were few and far between before AQ. I since grabbed Pandemic and Machi Koro, which were a hit with the friends and nephews respectively. But Arcadia Quest was my first real dive into the hobby. The minis looked so good, and I wanted to own more games like it. It was here where I finally acknowledged board gaming as one of my hobbies.
