So I’m a female and it often shows differently compared to in males which makes it harder. I wasn’t diagnosed until I was like 19/20 and it was like an “Ohhhh” moment. But this is some of my younger child traits that stood out.

Collecting very specific items for years, repetitive behaviour around a strong interest, logical reasoning rather than emotional reasoning, difficulty with empathy but alright with sympathy IF I agreed with their reason for being unhappy/sad/angry (otherwise I was very blunt), moving around school friendship groups because you never felt like you “fit in”, having dissociative traits caused by sensory stress, somewhat picky eater, preferred being alone than around people/friends and liked having semi-structured routines (especially weekend ones)
