"Your friends and family talk shit about you behind your back for having a replica"

Stumbled upon someone with really strong opinions on reps and I was curious about others experiences with lifestyle/company clashing with your rep hobby in general.

Everyone you know will see through the lies and judge you behind your back for it. It ruins your reputation with all of them and you become untrustworthy. This goes for everyone that does this. As much as you think I’m lying, this is the truth. Your friends and family talk shit about you behind your back for having a replica of something you can’t afford and trying to be something you’re not.

Serious question, is this actually reality for anyone out there? Cause this just sounds like an incredibly shitty life to live, and terrible friends/family to have. I can't imagine what kind of toxic upbringing someone has to have to feel like this, or what kind of parents/relatives nurture this mentality, but maybe I'm just incredibly sheltered/lucky? I live in a big North American city and it doesn't seem like anyone, even any strangers on the street, gives a flying fuck about flexing wealth or any of this crap? People will notice if someone has a really nice sports car maybe, but that's about it. No one around me cares about reps and are therefore actually MORE interested, fascinated, and impressed when I tell them that it's fake.

But maybe I'm in the minority and this stuff is actually a legit concern for most people? I really have no clue because I don't know anyone else who is into this kind of stuff anyway.
