In your opinion, what is the best career path for a single parent?

I went to massage school for 10 months when my daughter was 3. I am now making what I consider to be an insane amount of money considering I’ve been poor for many years. I love massage because I don’t know a single therapist that works more than 25-30 hours a week and that’s pushing it in regards to the physical effects on your body. I chose it so I could have flexibility and more time to spend with my daughter. My personal limit is 5 massages a day although 3-4 is ideal for me. There are also many routes you can go with it, there’s medical massage and spa massage, geriatric massage, SO many options. I’m not making crazy bank but my daughter and I are much more comfortable financially than when I was working retail. The trade school I went to also offers medical assisting, air traffic controlling, and phlebotomy courses. You would also be eligible for grants and temporary assistance (TANF and childcare assistance)from your state while you attend school. Massage isn’t for everyone but trade schools are a fantastic resource and generally don’t take very long to complete. Anyway, just a thought and it’s worked out very well for me! Good money and minimal hours is a win for me. Good luck to you!
