Do you think of you as and your partner as a unit or two individuals?

This sounds similar to me and my bf. I use “we” a lot more than he does, but I am a little older than him so I think I def we view our relationship a bit differently and I know myself better as a person whereas he’s still trying to figure it out so I dont really hold it against him. But I wouldn’t really describe us as a “unit” or “two halves of a whole”. We are two individuals but he’s my ride or die! I think being in a relationship is being in a partnership and always considering the other person, as much or more than yourself (hence the “we”). A good relationship requires a lot of selflessness. But you def don’t need to lose your individuality for that.
