Your student debt is your own fault, pay it off yourself

I hear what you're saying. I'm 50/50 on the issue because I also think we shouldn't just bow to loads of engineers, software techs, and mathematically based degrees because lowering our appreciation of arts and philosophy is a very dangerous territory. Believe me. I've lived in China.

But at the same time, I do logically agree with you that getting a degree is LGBT astrophysics theory with a minor in Esperanto is probably not the best idea. However you also need to acknowledge genuinely that a lot of professionals you admire likely have a BA--and that's including many lawyers who often major in literature.

The big issue is that many universities are shitting the bed when it comes to career counseling. I don't know why. When my parents were young, corporations would poach universities and network with faculties, and I don't know why this isn't done anymore.

As much as I hate my 20000 student loan, it has taught me financial management. However, it would probably make better sense economically for the government to forgive loans in good standing so people with decent money sense can make investments, which will in turn, boost the economy.
