> * Yuuki Yuuna > * Regarding a sequel, it very much feels like Yuuki Yuuna was planned to be a bigger story and a multimedia project from the very beginning. There's plenty of sidematerials (2 VNs, a Vita game, a prequel LN among other things) that are story relevant for the anime (in the form of worldbuilding mostly), and the sequel shortstory/chapter/thing they released is basically a setup for S2 (and gives a lot of explanations for the slightly asspully nature of the ending). Not to mention that the setting was very much left unfinished and the "Yuuki Yuuna Chapter" text at the end of the final episode. > * Regarding the ending of the show itself, it was very jarring indeed. I initially hated it, but having read all the side stuff and having the community point out a lot of small details in the episode (such as this theory or the God Tree absorbing the final boss' energy has warmed me up to it to some extent. Now, it's still not particularly good, but I feel it's more rushed and poorly executed than just simply bad conceptually. > * I don't exactly like the idea of multimedia projects and the show requiring extra material to fully understand, but I was so effectively drawn into the show I guess I kind of give Yu3 a free pass. The show becomes kinda hard to recommend, though, thanks to all this. Having the show be completely self-contained would have been ideal, of course, and really made it shine in my eyes (it sits at a "good" rather than "fantastic" for me because of the shortcomings it ended up having). > * The interview with the director and writers is also really interesting and gives some insight into their thought processes behind the creation. For instance the fact that the 'happy ending' was planned from the very start.
