"You're being intentionally ignorant" | /r/Movies member goes to the mat defending the honor of 'Attack of the Clones' from "meme arguments"

It's really not as bad as people say though. Because people pretend like the whole movie is the half they dislike and ignore the whole other half of the film. Anakin's story wasn't great, and his delivery of some of the lines was terrible. The directing was probably a good deal to blame there.

On the other hand, watching this scene alone without the following scene where he says "I killed them all" and you can see the emotional turmoil Anakin is in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjFkBPKcOqY

In addition, the detractors of the film completely ignore the Obi-Wan plot of the film which was pretty good. The film shows a Jedi actually using his intelligence to investigate a plot and uncover secrets which culminates in the Jango/Obi fight which is definitely the best action scene of the film.

Like with many things redditors like to take extreme positions and ignore the nuance in things. The Hobbit is another example of this where if you dare point out some of the good things of those movies people will jump down your throat and spew only hate for the films.

Was AotC a good movie? No, not by a long shot. However, it was nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.
