You're the President of the United States for one day. What do you fix?

There’s too much to do, accomplishing even one of these things would be monumental:

  • Stop poking our nose in foreign affairs (see: Honduras, The Middle East, etc.) so we can focus on making our home a better place
  • use the money we’re not wasting on useless wars to fix our healthcare, elderly/disability, and veteran benefits
  • find a way to put greedy companies in check (for medicine, family services, college tuition etc.) and stop them from being allowed to lobby
  • Senate, HoR, Supreme Court terms.
  • I would try to abolish parties all together, stop all this divisiveness. Maybe it’s naive to think this- but if we stopped painting people as red or blue, then maybe voters would have to look at a candidate for their merits and not just vote because “they’re not the other side”.
  • I’d like to start a campaign across America about helping one’s neighbors. Do some good to heal the wounds the last few elections have caused and remind people that we’re all Americans.
  • harsher punishments for elected officials caught neglecting their duties
  • More laws on personal privacy; not allowing tech companies to sell personal data
  • put more effort into conservation of our natural resources
  • I would seriously revamp the immigration/citizenship process.
  • Rather than fighting foreign wars, I would install military bases on the southern border for relief efforts. There would be a better vetting process and more hands to help figure out who is Cartel, who is human trafficking, and who is fleeing from the hostilities.
  • remove embargo on Cuba
  • make Puerto Rico a state
  • once America was back on track, I’d help our neighbors.

And more. So much more needs to be fixed.
