That alone makes me a bit of an outsider in my own field.

I went to a game development school. The Academy of Interactive Entertainment in Seattle.

The other adults there were utterly ignorant of toxic gamer culture.

Their students asked me about my gender repeatedly.

​

I was physically attacked and they blamed me for what I said.

​

They responded by telling me I shouldn't come in early with the other students who play video games in the morning. I should go study across the street at a bar.

Another student repeatedly put his hands on me, moving across the room to do it.

All he had to do was say "I didn't do it" and it threw away my one shot at a career.

They champion themselves as a bastion of acceptance.
