Youtuber tells people that Beyonce thinks we should repeal the first amendment to stop racism, asks if they agree, and you probably know the rest... Zombies, man....

I'm not a Constitutionalist (in the sense that the Constitution of the US is some kind of perfect document), so bring the downvotes!

Let us be reminded that the 13 colonies were all EACH recognized as independent sovereign nations, not just ONCE at the Treaty of Paris following the Revolution, but TWICE! Because they first joined in the Articles of Confederation, which was to be a "perpetual union," and then left that United States, one by one, to eventually rejoin a NEW United States under the Constitution. Nobody gets taught this, not even when I was young, you have to find it yourself.

Several amendments in the original Bill of Rights and thereafter are problematic to society.

The first one I would want to see repealed is #8. If it ain't "cruel and unusual," then it ain't "punishment." Rather than merely storing criminals, we should be focusing on rehabilitation - and punishment is part of any good rehab program! Some minor crimes and some criminals may be more suited to educational rehab, but many crimes (and repeat criminals) need corrective punishment, and nothing works better than pain and humiliation (laying down some stripes, time in a stockade, removing a knuckle or two from the burglar or thief, etc.). I'm also in favor of execution, not as punishment, but as protection - when someone proves that they're literally an incorrigible menace to society, then we should remove them, permanently, from society. All of the above has been removed from our country primarily on the basis of Amendment #8.

Here're two of my issues with Amendment #1. The first issue is something that, for the moment, we do need to take advantage of in the same way that the enemies of America did, though, before we fix it.

First, it's not, and never has been, about "free speech." There has always been speech and ideas which were unacceptable, and there always will be. The point is not THAT some speech is restricted, it is WHAT speech is restricted. It's really simple to see this, just take the average SJW position on many issues (sodomy, abortion, polygamy, promiscuity, etc.) and imagine what the Founding Fathers' USA would have done to someone proposing those ideas. The FFs (those old slaveowning white men) presupposed that nobody in their right mind would ever speak of such things seriously, and with that presupposition, wrote about "free speech" knowing that others of their day knew what the limits were. The modern enemies of America have used the cover of this issue to introduce all kinds of misleading evil to the people, not the least of which is widespread pornography.

Second, the religion clause was never about "freedom of religion." All of the FFs came from basically Protestant Christian backgrounds (even though some had Christian Deist beliefs) and all of the colonies (except for the original founding of Maryland which had Catholics) were populated by Protestant Christians. Their societies had recently experienced wars which were to some extent driven by "State Churches" and therefore they wrote that with the intent that no official US Christian Church would be founded, but they themselves recognized that the Christian morality was foundational to their new nation. They literally had no clue what Islam was and many of them would have never personally seen a Jew and had immigrated from countries where Jews were denied many rights and couldn't hold national offices and the FFs had no sympathy for them; they would have drove out of town on a rail anybody who publicly suggested that the Ten Commandments be removed from a courthouse.

Now of course, certain parties, in just the past 50-100 years, have taken control of institutions and re-interpreted what the FFs intended by using modern literalist out-of-context readings of Amendment #1.

Although THEY used it to pervert America, at least for a while, we need to use the same cover to ideologically retake America.
