With that logic, one could make a similar graph for the USA’s weapon arsenal buildup over the decades, most of which sits there not being used—spending all that time and money. But, the weapons are there, ready for use to serve and protect.

Similarly, all the time and money one used getting a university education, learning skills that are not ending up being used much—what a waste. But, one has the education and experience to take on future jobs not otherwise available to them had they not had the education.

Therefore, the above graph is not realistic. One still has all that wonderful education available for use during the job when needed.
