Zak Gramarye is NOT a jerk.

Seriously. Hello, hi, now stop saying he is. Everyone says he's the worst man who attacks the universe with guns, he's that kind of jerk. Stop. He's not. He joined Troupe Gramarye and fucked the head guys daughter to have Trucy, then later he shot a clown doll in the head, but the doll isnt alive so it doesnt count as being a jerk -- a real jerk would have shot the clown who actually lives. Then Valant came and Magnifi framed him for murder so Valant framed Zak for the murder. Zak said Kristoph couldn't defend him because he's a bad man, he learned a lot about him in that poker game - remember that he's a magician. That's why he knew Phoenix was a good man and let him represent him. Later, he stepped into court as a defendant, now who wouldn't be afraid in that position? Naturally, he would not want to be declared guilty so he ran. He kept the page with him because he would be afraid he'd also be accused of forgery. He didn't know Phoenix's life would be torn apart, but Kristoph is responsible for that. Later Zak returned because he wanted to give his magic to Trucy, people say he took too long but I say to you, how much of that time was spent in endless police chases, I imagine he must have had quite the exciting life dodging bullets and jumping across trains and running away from explosions, so the police would be tracking him the entire time, so he would have no time to stop by the agency and sit down and relax for a bit while he reveals lots of secrets to the man he supposedly betrayed. BTW if that part about the bullets and explosions is true then he's now my favorite character in the series. So while he's there he abuses Brushel, which is bad. BUT, remember your initial thoughts while playing 4-4, when you met Brushel, how badly did you want to rip him 'til his teeth no longer sparkled? A lot, that's right. Zak just punches him once or twice. Then finally we get to the big thing, my final challenge, the poker game. What was Zak's motive for trying to frame Phoenix? To see if he was a worthy father, of course. One of the ways to see if Phoenix was a good man in that poker game so long ago was to see if he was perceptive, so the aim of this one was to see if he could perceive Orly putting the card in his pocket. When he didn't react, Zak assumed he missed it so he knew what he had to do in the game, that was to accuse him. When he saw there was no card later, he was confused (this is because Phoenix found the card but said nothing), and as a result, Zak concluded that Olga did not put the card in there. This would naturally enrage Zak, this was his only chance to give Phoenix this parent test he had planned before he goes back to being constantly pursued by the police, but he was betrayed, so he hit Olga. You can't blame him though, it's natural to do something like this when consumed by rage. After that Kristoph killed him, RIP. So yes, I like Mr Zak Gramarye.
