That's my entire point. Those soldiers likely had basic training, knew that in a typical combat scenario that their actions would be absolutely absurd, yet they were so conditioned into thinking a certain way that they weren't even aware or acting like they were in an active combat zone.

I feel like a lot of them didn't even realize their lives were about to end or were at stake just sitting on those tanks entering a country as part of a military column, a country where they were not welcome. I genuinely think it's crazy and intriguing in a lot of ways that we have come up with combinations of words and other forms of propaganda that can make a person lose such basic senses of self-awareness and situational awareness. It just blows my mind idk, life is weird.
