Most conservatives were lost during the 2003 Iraq war. I remember being told, "you're either with us or against us", well I was against us doing it precisely because I knew it was a bad idea for our long term aims.
We left Saddam in place during the first gulf war for a reason..the Baathists combated the religious zealots that would make Death to America and Israel a priority, as they do in Iran...so we empowered Sadaam in the first place. Same with Muammar Gaddafi.... he even de-nucularized on our request. Now Libya is even more of a mess and breading ground for fanatics.
We displaced millions of Iraqi's, had thousands of soldier killed. Valerie Plame had her career ended... I could go on. The instant we leave.. it will just get worse as it did in Afghanistan

You're talking about a lost cause with mainstream conservatives on foreign policy. They stopped giving a shit and having any decent opinion decades ago and thats when I lost any political identity.
