Honestly... I think it's time for me to step away from thus forum and probably gift exchanges all together. I had never done one before and always thought it would be fun. I was super active on ECR several months ago when I signed up. Since then, I got shipped off on the first and possibly worst organized business trip of my life. I got fucked out of $250 because my job never paid me as promised and much of my own food had to be purchased. While I was there I pretty much stopped vaping because I was only doing it because it made me happy and while I was there I was extremely depressed and nothing helped. I came back to my job to a hot ass mess with my employees that I was expected to clean up. A week later, I stepped on a pair of halcyon tweezers and had to go to the ER (no stitches) but then had to take off work for a week, at which point I came back to an even bigger mess.
All the while, I'm see all these bitching posts here about how terrible thus exchange is and how everyone is getting screwed and I hadn't sent our my gift. I emailed Jorah basically telling him I was scum and asking if I could wait until my next payday after the due date. He was very kind to me and told me it was no issue.
I thought my SS was the shit. I still do. She's super cool, we're both women, and we have a lot in common. I did a ton of e-stalking to try to formulate the perfect gift for her. But when all was said and done... I was pooped out. I couldn't think of anything. I ended up ordering some random more unique/exotic things that I would enjoy trying because it seems like she likes trying new juices, being a DIYer.
I purchased everything and had it sent directly to her from a site (because I couldn't afford to have it sent to my home first) but honestly I'm so disenfranchised with this entire thing now that I'm just glad it's over. I always thought it would be fun to shop for someone else and do a gift exchange, maybe even get something cool, but you guys are the worst. I'm so over this petty ass whiney community that expects Jorah to run fucking criminal background checks on all four hundred participants. He's one guy. He's a goddamn human. I'm sorry you guys had a bad time, but let me say that many of you, collectively, from the scammers to the complainers to the straight up assholes, have probably ruined gift exchanges for me forever. I imagine I'm not the only one, either, and that's a shame.
