“How exactly are you going to connect with customers today”

Definitely, the agreed upon job is being pleasant with customers, that’s the restaurant worker gig for all time at most places. They expect you to be warm and welcoming. Okay. I’m good with that. This is just taking it to an unnecessary level of enforcing friendliness and “connection” lmao.

I got asked when I picked up my mobile order the other day what my New Year’s resolutions are. It was so obvious she wrote on the message board, “I’m going to ask what their NY resolutions are” it’s like turning the partner into a robot, even more of a robot that is.

I didn’t feel like I was being seen, it felt pretty fake and weird. And I know that girl does not care at all what my resolutions are. Didn’t make me want to get into it my resolutions at all lol. It made me bummed because now I don’t really feel super comfortable. I played along with a very light and funny and deflecting response not really answering her, I wasn’t rude or anything of course
