Chet Holmgren Dominant Performance - 19 Pts, 17 Reb, 5 Ast, 2 Stl, 7 Blk Full Highlights|Georgia State Panthers vs Gonzaga Bulldogs|2022.03.17

His frame is similar to KD’s. Don’t know if he’ll ever fill out his frame and be able to play the 5 consistently. He might always be frail like KD, although he should be fine because Chet plays strong, and KD can hold his own for stretches at the 5 (obv not against the top guys like Embiid). So even if he’ll be most valuable as a stretch 5, a stretch 4 who can protect the rim/weak side is still a great player.

His game is nothing like KD’s. Chet has a great handle and feel for his size, but if anyone is expecting him to just suddenly develop Durant’s offensive game, you’re going to be disappointed. KD was 25 and 10 in college, the absolute number 1 option. Chet may be able to expand his offensive game but it’s more likely he’ll be a second or third option on offense. Although at his best I could see an offense being ran through him eventually, his feel is great. But it won’t be like KD. KD is basically a 7 foot SG. A stretch big with the skills of an isolation guard. Chet is not that but that’s fine.

Chet’s more of a stretch 4 with DPOY potential. He’ll be able to beat bigs off the dribble and abuse smaller matchups. I think at this point he’s the undisputed number 1 pick. Although I do think you will need a primary scorer next to him (like Middleton and Giannis) he has an MVP ceiling for sure. The way he can impact the whole game is crazy. Just don’t expect him to be some unstoppable iso scorer like KD. That type of thing doesn’t just happen. KD genuinely showed that in college. You’re just hoping with Chet. Doesn’t mean he can’t potentially be as good in his OWN way. Dude would be a perfect fit for the Pistons. Cade and Chet would be nasty.
