[EVENT] An emergency meeting is called for by the elders!

"You are certainly... Direct, in your mannerisms, pray forgive me concerning my behaviour: the Groldun envoy started to get on my nerves, but I will make sure I do as you say, for the good of the fate of the north-east."

"The current situation is quite simply an escalation upon escalation. The Couvernian people were not just threatened with nothing but death and destruction, the Grodlanders actually declared war to deal with them, forever. However, we Boldons could not directly take up arms against the Grodlanders as we promised a mutual alliance, yet at the same time we had no desire to slaughter people whom have known nothing but peace: there's nothing of value to be gained from such a target.

So, the Assembly decided the best course of action would be to show what we Boldons are capable of and make certain that such aggressive acts without reason will not happen again. We immediately send troops to Couvernian lands to essentially divide their lands into a part protected by Boldon and a part which we allowed the Grodlanders to take their bloodthirst out on: a pragmatic and perhaps questionable action in hindsight. But the Grodlanders know nothing except power, they will yield if they realise that they face actual opposition: as is their ways, so we did what we believed was best concerning the circumstances.

The Couvernian people, upon hearing the declaration of war by the Grodlanders decided to immediately start evacuation. A saddening affair that is still ongoing due to this war. In a show of good faith, the Couvernian people granted us Boldons their lands in exchange to protect them from full slaughter: including their capital, or what was left of it, as the Couvernians destroyed it lest it's legacy might fall in Groldun hands.

However, whilst the Grodlanders had already backed off somewhat due to our show of force: they still proclaimed loudly and publically their desire to take over the Couvernian capital to burn it to the ground and to mercilessly slaughter their king, so they send their men north-east regardless. Yet, this very capital had already been granted to Boldon by the Couvernian people, as such: Groldun broke our not only initial proposal of a status quo but they also went in against the very alliance we Boldons and Grolduns shared, only due to their massive desire for war, as they continued to march for, now, Boldon lands. It was at that moment of betrayal that we declared war, called our allies and taken over full responsibility of the fates of the Couvernian peoples.

That should summarize the events neatly, if I have made a mistake regarding these events: pray forgive me as I'm sure either the Coristorian or Couvernian envoy can correct me: or perhaps tell their side of this sad, sad story."
