I love West Ghent. If I could afford to have bought there I probably would have. Beware: There are a lot of good and not so good neighborhoods that are right next to each other, be sure you know the area very well before committing to long term. Also beware: Rain and High Tide Flooding are serious issues for this area, become an expert on the tidal flood maps and the historic hurricane flood maps. West Ghent is not immune from flooding. Some older homes have half basements. DO NOT buy a home with a basement the water table is high and can rise quickly after a week of heavy rain, something that happens often, the higher your home is above ground the better.
